Joya de Nicaragua
Joya de Nicaragua began in 1968 when Cuban tobacco pioneers Simón Camacho and Juan Francisco Bermejo established the Nicaragua Cigar Company in Estelí. The house became Nicaragua's first premium handmade cigar manufacturer and survived revolution, fire, bombing, nationalization, embargo, and reconstruction. Today the 100% Nicaraguan-owned company develops and manufactures its portfolio in Estelí, grounding its identity in resilient people, volcanic-soil tobacco regions, and a process in which Joya says each cigar passes through more than 300 pairs of hands and uses tobacco aged for at least four years.
