The Pledge earned its place as an instant classic: Cigar Aficionado's No. 1 Cigar of the Year for 2020, with the Prequel rated 98. A full-bodied masterpiece from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo — a USA wrapper over Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers — it opens with noticeable spice and robust wood, balanced by a hint of sweetness and a smooth coffee finish.
